During the last couple weeks, our team had the privilege of seeing over 300 security team members receive top level training in Colorado and Nebraska. Our clients showed up! Many, if not most of the attendees took vacation days from work to attend the training, which was an unbelievable blessing to us.
Words can’t begin to express how grateful we are to serve ministries in this unique way. From resourcing these teams with security best practices to training them on de-escalation and threat response.
As I have said for years, I believe Craig Cable is in a category of his own with his ability to train ministries to be safer. The feedback on the training has been nothing short of incredible and I thought I would share a few of the comments sent in by some of our attendees.
“I have attended other training geared towards houses of worship, including FBI training from our local office, and this was more informative than any others. The information you provided was more practical and specific towards the situations I believe we need to focus on.”
“Craig articulated everything in a way that was very understandable to a diverse group regarding security experience! He also had an enormous amount of knowledge and experience.
“Craig was a very professional and gifted instructor in all aspects. His knowledge of church security tactics and techniques was very impressive. I would recommend this training for anyone who is involved in church security.”
“That was the BEST security training I’ve ever attended! I’ve been to quite a few different trainings over the past several years provided by FBSN, Local groups, etc., and yours was the most comprehensive, relevant, and actionable training seminar I’ve attended. I found you to be extremely credible, relevant, engaging, and enjoyable to listen to. Your wealth of experience is compelling, and you applied your experience in an extremely effective way. In short, your training was excellent in every way! I think the other attendees at my table would say the same.”
Our next training events will be held in Leawood, KS on Tuesday, May 9th, and in Sioux Falls, SD on June 8th. To learn more about the training and register your teams, visit http://safeministry.com.

There are a lot of hats worn in any growing ministry – and we want to serve every one of them.
With the holiday season right around the corner, it’s wise for ministries to evaluate their fire safety plan. Whether your ministry is hosting a holiday party, prepping treats for charity, or running a community kitchen, make sure you’re well-prepared with these tips.
The holidays present unique opportunities and challenges for churches that aren’t typical during other times of the year. A lot of the ministries that I work with are seeing steady increases in attendance and are praying for a significant jump in Christmas service participation this year.
In this article, Brad Brown from Plan A Wealth Management gives a wonderful insight into why ministries might consider choosing a 403(B)(9) retirement plan.
As school is back in session, it’s important to make sure your school is equipped with the correct safety procedures. Thinking about your school’s physical security as a series of layers can help you find gaps in your plan. Transportation and volunteers are just two important aspects of your school safety plan to think about.
